Aspen Institute Cyber Official Moving to CISA In June
The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency has confirmed that Jeff Greene, a former cyber staff member of the White House National Security Council, will join CISA in June.
CNN previously reported that Greene, the cybersecurity programs senior director at the Aspen Institute, will take on the assistant director of cybersecurity role, replacing Eric Goldstein, who will move to a private company to fill a cyber-focused position.
A CISA spokesperson, however, said that Greene’s appointment to the assistant director role has yet to be confirmed, Nextgov/FCW reported.
As a staff member at the NSC, Greene led the council’s defensive cyber and incident response efforts and the White House’s counter-ransomware work.
His public sector experience also included time spent as the head of the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence and as an appointed member of the agency’s information security and privacy advisory board.
Greene also served at cybersecurity firm Symantec as vice president of global government affairs and policy.
