Axon Cloud-Based SaaS Solution Achieves FedRAMP High Impact Status

The Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program’s Joint Authorization Board has granted high impact status to the cloud-based software-as-a-service solution of public safety technology company Axon Enterprise. With the FedRAMP high-impact authorization, the company can serve government customers handling sensitive unclassified information. The FedCloud SaaS solution, which previously held moderate-level impact status, supports digital evidence management, situational awareness and records management, Axon said.

The FedCloud system offers Axon Evidence, a central repository for customers’ digital evidence; Axon Respond, a real-time operations platform that integrates real-time situational awareness and unified communications; and Axon Records, which uses automation to break down data silos and help agencies create and submit reports faster.

The system serves as the main control center for Axon devices and client applications and operates as an isolated region of Axon Cloud Services dedicated to the federal community. The Departments of Homeland Security, Justice and the Interior are among the users of the SaaS solution.

Axon achieved the FedRAMP status after winning a $60 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract from the Department of Veterans Affairs to supply Axon Fleet 3 in-car cameras, artificial intelligence-powered license plate reader technology and Axon Body 3 cameras to VA police officers.

As part of the contract, Axon is providing the agency with access to Axon Respond and Axon Evidence solutions for real-time situational awareness and digital evidence management.
