BAE Systems Delivers Advanced Radar Warning Systems for Air Force’s C-130J Fleet

BAE Systems has begun delivering AN/ALR-56M Advanced Radar Warning Receivers to the U.S. Air Force in fulfillment of its contractual obligations to the Defense Logistics Agency.

The advanced systems equip the C-130J Super Hercules fleet with enhanced situational awareness and self-defense capabilities, critical for safeguarding missions in contested environments, BAE Systems said.

With rapid digital processing and advanced algorithms, the AN/ALR-56M allows C-130J pilots to gain crucial early warnings of potential hazards and effectively respond to airborne threats, according to the aerospace firm.

BAE Systems added that the advanced radars also feature long-range threat detection and adaptive filtering functionalities and can integrate with jammers, countermeasure dispensers and radars among other avionics.

Lindsay Gallagher, director of BAE Systems’ tactical aircraft electronic warfare systems unit, said the AN/ALR-56M is essential in keeping the operational effectiveness of critical aircraft amid evolving threats.

For more than 30 years, BAE Systems has produced over 1,700 radar warning receivers for F-16 Fighting Falcons and C-130Js.
