The Environmental Protection Agency has awarded Booz Allen Hamilton a seven-year blanket purchase agreement worth up to $431 million to provide artificial intelligence and machine learning expertise.

The Scientific Modeling, Application, Visualization, Computational Science, Software and Statistical Support blanket purchase agreement will see the company supplementing the EPA’s Office of Research and Development’s mission to protect human health and the environment, Booz Allen Hamilton said.

Booz Allen Hamilton will use AI, machine learning, data analysis, advanced modeling and geospatial analysis to improve the EPA’s environmental efforts in areas such as clean air and water initiatives, disaster response and public health research.

The company also said it would leverage its expertise in statistical and applied environmental science to help the EPA use scientific data more effectively, leading to faster, more accurate and reliable results.

Prachi Sukhatankar, Booz Allen’s vice president, emphasized the firm’s experience in government science and its commitment to developing innovative solutions to help address environmental and public health challenges and strengthen the economy and national security.
