Booz Allen to Acquire Liberty IT Solutions for $725M

Booz Allen Hamilton has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Liberty IT Solutions, a small business specializing in health information technology. The $725 million transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of fiscal year 2022 and is subject to customary closing conditions.

Booz Allen said the acquisition is aimed at enhancing its digital solutions capabilities, expanding its talent base and service delivery models and improving its ability to work with strategic industry partners.

Horacio Rozanski, president and CEO of Booz Allen, said Liberty will solidify Booz Allen’s presence in the digital transformation market and accelerate its growth in the health care sector.

“This acquisition supports our long-term strategy to drive continued growth by investing in innovative technologies and talent at scale,” Rozanski added.

Headquartered in Herndon, Virginia, Liberty is a federal IT provider that employs about 600 solution architects, engineers and other technical staff. The company also operates in Exton, Pennsylvania, and owns an Agile center of excellence in Melbourne, Florida.

Liberty offers capabilities in cloud management, software-as-a-service, platform-as-a-service, integrated cybersecurity and change management, according to the company’s website.

Once acquired, Liberty will introduce a digital transformation portfolio that includes end-to-end digital solutions and expanded Salesforce capabilities.

The company will also integrate Booz Allen’s own capabilities in artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity and other technologies across a wider portfolio.

Booz Allen said the transaction will allow Liberty to more broadly offer its low-code/no-code capabilities across the federal market. Liberty employees will become part of Booz Allen’s network of remote solution centers.
