Carahsoft to Distribute CyCognito’s Cybersecurity Platform for Government

CyCognito, a cybersecurity company specializing in attack surface management, has entered into a distribution agreement with Carahsoft Technology. As part of their alliance, Carahsoft will help extend CyCognito’s reach into the public sector market.

Carahsoft will improve product availability through its NASA Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement V, Information Technology Enterprise-Solutions 2, OMNIA Partners, National Association of State Procurement Officials ValuePoint and National Cooperative Purchasing Alliance contracts, CyCognito said Tuesday.

Rob Gurzeev, founder and CEO of CyCognito, said that security and remediation are especially important in the public sector, where a single breach could affect a large number of people.

CyCognito said it offers a platform that automates the detection of external cyberthreats, testing of multi-factor security and prioritization of risks to externally exposed IT assets.

Once a threat is detected, the platform creates a response ticket and taps existing vulnerability lifecycle management processes through services like Slack, PagerDuty and ServiceNow, CyCognito said.

The company said that its automated offering ensures a rapid and efficient response when an attack is detected.

Michael Shrader, vice president of intelligence and innovative solutions at Carahsoft and a member of the Potomac Officers Club, said CyCognito’s platform can help businesses satisfy requirements under major cybersecurity frameworks and regulatory compliance standards.

Under their agreement, Carahsoft will also make CyCognito’s government-focused sales and marketing assets available to value-added resellers, managed service providers, global systems integrators and managed security services providers.

Carahsoft brands itself as the master government aggregator for its partners, which is made up of companies offering solutions in cybersecurity, cloud, software development, big data and artificial intelligence, among others.
