Carahsoft to Offer Ontinue’s Threat Detection and Response Service to Public Sector

Ontinue has selected Carahsoft Technology as the public-sector distributor of the Ontinue ION managed extended detection and response service. Carahsoft offers the MXDR service to government agencies through its reseller partners and National Cooperative Purchasing Alliance and Omnia Partners contracts. The ION service is designed to provide always-on cybersecurity protection and support from the ION Cyber Defense Center, which employs teams of cyber advisers, cyber defenders and other experts, Ontinue said.

The company acquired Tiberium, a provider of highly automated managed security services based on Microsoft security solutions, in March 2022. According to Ontinue, the acquisition enabled Ontinue ION to automate security operation tasks, accelerate threat detection and response and offer real-time collaboration capabilities. The service allows customers to use their existing Microsoft security and collaboration stack, including Microsoft Sentinel, the Microsoft Defender suite and Microsoft Teams, eliminating the need to deploy additional technology.

Tiffany Goddard, the sales director who leads the Ontinue team at Carahsoft, said the MXDR service will help public sector organizations meet their critical security requirements and strengthen their defense against ransomware and other serious threats.
