CGI Announces FedRAMP Authorization for Momentum Enterprise SaaS Solution

CGI’s  Momentum Enterprise Suite Software as a Service has received authorization from the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program Joint Authorization Board.

The milestone indicates that the SaaS platform can now be used by federal agencies for cloud deployment.

FedRAMP granted the authorization after a rigorous authorization process and a six-month trial, CGI said.

In a statement, John Owens II, senior vice president of CGI’s enterprise solutions group, welcomed the authorization, saying that it opens up more opportunities for Momentum at federal agencies.

The Momentum-Enterprise Suite SaaS is an enterprise resource planning solution built specifically for federal agencies. CGI said clients using Momentum as a Service are able to realize financial, budget formulation and acquisition efficiencies.

The solution is designed to reduce risk with predictable spend for software services and management. It gives users a “single pane of glass” view for spend, service availability, performance, security and compliance postures. It also provides users visibility into aggregated billing and chargeback across cloud and legacy IT assets.

The Momentum-Enterprise SaaS is the newest addition to CGI’s list of FedRAMP-authorized products.

CGI Federal’s CGI IaaS Cloud has been authorized since January 31, 2013. The solution is used by agencies such as the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Agriculture, Corporation for National and Community Service, Federal Trade Commission, General Services Administration, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Established in 2011, FedRAMP is a governmentwide program that standardizes the approach to security assessment authorization and continuous monitoring of cloud-based services.
