CGI to Modernize Data Management at Interior Department’s Office of National Resources Revenue
The Department of the Interior has awarded CGI Federal a 36-month task order to modernize the data management practice of its Office of National Resources Revenue.
ONRR is responsible for ensuring the full payment of revenues owed for the development of energy and natural resources on the Outer Continental Shelf and onshore federal and Indian lands. According to its website, ONRR serves as one of the government’s biggest sources of non-tax revenue.
CGI said it will develop and install a new data management platform that will improve ONRR’s process for collecting and disbursing royalties.
The task order has a base value of $3.3 million but can be worth as much as $12.9 million if all options are exercised, CGI said Tuesday.
Stefan Becker, senior vice president at CGI, said the company will use a proven and secure cloud-based data management environment solution to support ONRR’s mission.
CGI added that the platform-as-a-service environment will drive ONRR’s efforts to modernize its information technology systems. The solution will enable self-service data access, user-generated reports, better data quality and transparency as well as reliability enterprise-wide, CGI said.
The company added that it will use an integration of Amazon Web Services-native tools and Snowflake’s PaaS offering to support large-scale data management functions.
CGI is an IT company that provides solutions to federal government clients in the defense, civilian, health care and intelligence sectors.
The company said it offers capabilities and consultancy in systems integration, managed IT, business process services and intellectual property matters.
