CISA Announces Departure of Senior Cybersecurity Architect

Sean Connelly has announced his resignation as the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s senior cybersecurity architect and Trusted Internet Connections program manager, effective April 19.

The cybersecurity professional has led several federal cybersecurity projects during his 11 years at the agency, including heading the 3.0 update of the TIC architecture and training agencies on cyber efforts.

Reports claim that Connelly will join cloud security solutions provider Zscaler, leading the implementation of international standard-compliant projects for non-U.S. government organizations in need of support in embracing zero trust principles, Federal News Network reported.

Zscaler has been building its leadership team in recent months. In November 2023, the cloud security firm named Claudionor Coelho Jr. as chief artificial intelligence officer and Mohamed Shabar as executive vice president for data and AI platforms.

In April, Brian Conrad joined as the company’s director of global compliance and authorizing authority liaison. Conrad recently served as acting director of the General Services Administration’s Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program.
