CISA Updates Public Safety Cyber Resilience Toolkit
The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency has updated a toolkit that helps public safety agencies identify and address potential cyber threats.
The Public Safety Communications and Cyber Resiliency Toolkit is designed to help public safety agencies and communications network operators evaluate and improve their cyber hygiene and develop plans for mitigating cyber threats. Eleven new resources were added to the toolkit, spanning various topics such as cyber incidents, ransomware response, emergency calls, electromagnetic pulse, jamming and navigation and positioning disruptions.
The enhancements follow the latest round of updates in December 2022, CISA said Tuesday.
CISA has also updated another cybersecurity resource to ensure that organizations will be able to respond to ransomware attacks.
Earlier in October, the agency updated the Ransomware Vulnerability Warning Pilot with a warning for organizations about gaps that could be exploited in a ransomware attack. The RVWP was also updated to include a list of misconfigurations and weaknesses linked to ransomware campaigns.
Prior to the update, RVWP only provided network vulnerability notifications access to a catalog of gaps commonly exploited by hackers.
