CMMC-AB Taps Raymond Karrenbauer as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer

Raymond Karrenbauer, an insurance executive and digital entrepreneur, has joined the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Accreditation Body as its new executive vice president and chief financial officer.

According to an announcement by the CMMC-AB, he will oversee the organization’s technology portfolio, business operations and financial accounts.

Commenting on his appointment, Karrenbauer said he looks forward to creating an online marketplace that accelerates the adoption of the CMMC framework.

The new member of the CMMC-AB previously served as senior vice president and chief information officer for IFG Companies. His LinkedIn profile shows that he was able to enhance the insurance group’s technology portfolio by deploying a comprehensive and modernized production platform that leveraged capabilities like the cloud and extreme virtualization.

Karrenbauer also had a stint as EVP and CIO of insurance company AXIS Capital. In these roles, he led the automation of the company’s portfolio-level data validation process and modeled the amount of capital needed to optimize overall economic and financial returns.

Additionally, he is the former global chief architect and Americas chief technology officer of ING. While working for the digital banking company, he was responsible for architecture, planning, competitive intelligence, strategy, innovation, information risk and technology shared services.

Karrenbauer’s addition to the CMMC-AB follows the appointment of Melanie Kyle Gingrich as the organization’s new vice president of training and development.

The CMMC-AB also beefed up its board of directors with the addition of Mathew Newfield, Unisys’ chief security and infrastructure officer, and Clifton Poole, Unison’s director for corporate security.
