Cognosante, Consensus Cloud Solutions Implement Cloud-Based Fax System at VA Sites

Cognosante and Consensus Cloud Solutions have completed the deployment of the Enterprise Cloud Fax solution at over 40 Department of Veterans Affairs facilities located in five sites that were given initial operating capability.

The facilities handle various VA operations, including inpatient and outpatient care, pharmacies, cemeteries and administration.

Cognosante is the prime contractor for the ECFax program. The cloud-based electronic fax system is designed to increase the efficiency and security of data transmission, reduce the need for standalone fax machines and decrease the time and cost associated with manual faxing.

ECFax, which holds in process authorization at the high-impact level from the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program, is the first cloud-based digital faxing solution that received VA approval, Cognosante said.

The cloud fax solution is hosted on Amazon Web Services GovCloud. Cognosante and Consensus Cloud Solutions expect that the service will also be deployed to over 2,000 VA facilities in the United States.
