Commerce Department Names Lynelle McKay as CHIPS Program Office Chief Portfolio Management Officer
The Department of Commerce has appointed Lynelle McKay as chief portfolio management officer of the CHIPS Program Office.
McKay, a semiconductor industry veteran with over two decades of leadership experience, most recently served as a senior relationship director in the said office.
Before joining the agency, she supported girls in science, technology, engineering and math programs as the chief customer officer of Girl Scouts of the USA and held senior leadership roles at Freescale Semiconductor and Motorola, the National Institute of Standards and Technology said.
In her new role, she will work with grant recipients under the CHIPS for America program and ensure that the fund management aligns with milestones and other commercial terms.
According to the Semiconductor Industry Association, the CHIPS Program Office has announced grant awards amounting to $29.63 billion and up to $25.1 billion in loans to 12 companies.
“I look forward to working with our award recipients, applicants, and key stakeholders to continue implementing this once-in-a-generation industrial policy program,” McKay said.
