Confidencial Secures AFWERX STTR Phase II Prototyping Contract for Data Protection

AFWERX has awarded Confidencial a $1.8 million Small Business Technology Transfer Phase II contract to develop a prototype of the company’s selective encryption technology powered by artificial intelligence.

The technology is designed to provide data protection and enable safe collaboration with partners, allied countries and contractors.

The encryption technology will integrate sensitive data scanning, document sharing and electronic signature capabilities and support diverse document formats and multicloud environments, Confidencial said.

Developing a functioning prototype system will provide the company with an opportunity to transition the technology to production deployment, speed up commercialization in the private sector and secure authorization from the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program to run the data protection solution within the networks of the Department of Defense and civilian agencies.

Stewart Walchli, CEO of Confidencial, said the partnership with the U.S. Air Force in securing unstructured data “is a tremendous honor and endorsement of our technology.”
