Corelight Joins Pentagon’s Enterprise Software Initiative
Cybersecurity company Corelight announced that it has been named a vendor on the Department of Defense Enterprise Software Initiative blanket purchase agreement awarded to Carahsoft Technology. The BPA is signed for a full 10-year period of performance through July 2029.
Jean Schaffer, federal chief technology officer at Corelight, said the San Francisco-based company’s data-first approach to cybersecurity aligns with the Pentagon’s mission, as federal agencies pursue their digital transformation objectives and modernize infrastructure. Under the agreement, Corelight’s asset management and cybersecurity software, software maintenance support, information technology professional services and training will be provided by Carahsoft to its DOD, U.S. Intelligence Community and Coast Guard customers.
Corelight touts that its services give federal, state and local governments the advantage in network defense. The company said that its open network detection and response platform delivers insights that protect citizens and data from cyberattacks. Forging a true private/public partnership is essential to strengthening the nation’s cybersecurity posture, Schaffer added.
The Enterprise Software Initiative is spearheaded by the DOD’s chief information officer to lead in the establishment and management of enterprise commercial off-the-shelf IT agreements, assets and policies. The initiative lowers the total cost of ownership across the department, Coast Guard and Intelligence Community for commercial software, IT hardware and services, Corelight said Tuesday.
The recently approved BPA supports the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement and is intended to reduce the contracting and open market costs associated with the traditional procurement process.
Corelight said that it provides cyber security teams with network evidence so they can better protect the world’s most critical organizations and companies.
