CYBERCOM to Conduct Cyber Defense Exercise

U.S. Cyber Command will hold a cybersecurity event in the coming weeks to enhance its readiness to protect networks, data and critical infrastructure in support of the Joint Force commanders and interagency and international partners.

The International Coordinated Cyber Security Activity will focus on defending the Department of Defense networks and systems from malware and other cyberthreats. With INCCA, the command expects to improve cyberspace collaboration and information and insight sharing and refine the processes of defensive cyber teams in identifying, mitigating and countering cyberthreats, CYBERCOM .mil reported.

U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Ryan Janovic, director of operations, J3, at CYBERCOM, noted that malicious cyber actors target networks, data and critical infrastructure the Joint Force uses.

“By synchronizing and sharing the activities occurring during INCCA, we help further our collective defense, enhance our capacity, and strengthen internal defensive measures with a community of partners,” Janovic said.

According to the command, enhancing the measures will make the Department of Defense Information Networks and its partners more resilient to foreign cyberattacks.
