DataRobot Selected by JAIC to Implement AI Transformation Across DOD
Boston-headquartered DataRobot announced that it has been selected as an “AI partner” under a five-year $249 million-ceiling Blanket Purchase Agreement awarded by the Department of Defense’s Joint Artificial Intelligence Center. The deal calls for the transformation of AI throughout the DOD ecosystem by providing a proprietary AI Cloud platform and services to accelerate the government’s use of emerging technologies including machine learning, deep learning and neural networks, DataRobot said Thursday.
Jim Watson, vice president of sales for DataRobot’s federal & public sector business, said his company is proud to support the JAIC’s mission to maximize the full potential of AI, shares the Pentagon’s commitment to solving complex and mission-critical problems. The executive said that AI has the power to shape the next generation of U.S. defense operations.
Under the contract, DataRobot will provide a unified AI platform to enable all users across the DOD to quickly and successfully build and deploy mission-enabling AI projects. It will also work to detect, measure and standardize bias prevention as a routine step in the machine learning process, driving more reliable operations and strategic solutions, the company added.
The contract will also see the company operationalizing solutions for the testing and evaluation of AI-enabled systems, automated products, and autonomous systems. Finally, DataRobot will integrate AI T&E tools and services in alignment with JAIC’s architectures, technical standards, and security standards.
In November 2020, the Army, in partnership with the JAIC and the Defense Innovation Unit selected DataRobot’s enterprise AI platform to resolve complex problems with DOD’s financial data.
