DCSA Names Robert Schadey as NBIS Program Manager
The Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency has appointed Robert “Rob” Schadey as the new program manager for the National Background Investigation Services.
Schadey, who was the acting deputy program executive officer for the U.S. Army’s Program Executive Office Enterprise Information Systems, assumed the NBIS role on Sunday.
As the program manager, he will facilitate the implementation of policies, procedures and strategies for the delivery of end-to-end personnel vetting services to federal agencies. He will also lead program planning and technical and analytical support related to acquisition, cost management and other business processes, DCSA .mil reported.
According to a Federal News Network report, Schadey’s appointment to the NBIS comes amid the DCSA’s effort to modernize systems for obtaining security clearances.
The agency is currently working to integrate the Personnel Vetting Questionnaire, which the Office of Management and Budget approved in November 2023, into the NBIS eApp web portal to simplify background investigation on individuals seeking to work for the U.S. government or access classified information.
