DDC IT Services Secures DISA Mainframe Lifecycle Support Contract
The Defense Information Systems Agency has awarded DDC IT Services a Mainframe Line of Business West contract to offer full-lifecycle mainframe services.
Under the deal, the Dine Development subsidiary will provide DISA and its customer base across the Department of Defense application hosting, software and hardware management and security modernization, among other services. The $50 million contract comes with a one-year base and four option years, DDC IT Services said.
Rachel Cross, the company’s vice president of growth and strategy for the Navy and 4th Estate, said that DDC IT Services is honored to once again work with DISA, leveraging its extensive expertise to power the agency’s information technology objectives.
The new contract comes after DISA unveiled a five-year strategy for its information network modernization, which aims to streamline DODIN and create a robust and secure cloud platform.
Amid the modernization at the agency, it continues to face hurdles in embracing new technologies. In May, Col. Jeffrey Strauss, DISA acquisition deputy for programs, disclosed how insufficient funding continues to challenge its cloud services expansion outside the continental United States.
