Defense Department Awards KBR $75M Recompete Task Order to Provide R&D Support

KBR announced that it secured a $75 million, five-year recompete task order to support Department of Defense research priorities such as artificial intelligence, renewable energy and advanced materials.

Work includes research and development for engineering, product design and logistics support, KBR said.

The task order was made under the DOD Information Analysis Center Multiple-Award Contract vehicle. According to the company, the award is a recapture of the Project Manager Transportation Systems Family of Vehicles Analysis IAC MAC deal.

KBR said the new task order is over 80 percent larger than the previous one.

Byron Bright, president of KBR Government Solutions U.S., noted that the award is part of ongoing support to the U.S. Army Program Executive Office Combat Support & Combat Support Services.

Bright, a 4×24 member and 2023 Wash100 winner, said his company’s solutions improve the reliability and sustainability of combat-enabling systems.

In 2022, KBR secured a five-year, $62 million task order under the DOD IAC MAC vehicle to provide the Army with R&D support.
