Defense Intelligence Agency Awards $829M IT Helpdesk Task to GDIT

General Dynamics Information Technology beat out five other companies to secure an $829 million information technology helpdesk task order with the Defense Intelligence Agency.

The fixed-price, award-fee task requires GDIT to provide all IT help desk services for the DIA until Jan. 27, 2032. About $20 million had been obligated at the time of award for the base year of performance, FedScoop reported.

Work will be carried out at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington D.C. and other DIA sites throughout the contract period.

The win adds to recent contracts secured by GDIT with federal customers.

In June, the IT company received an 18-month, $396 million contract to provide managed hosting and professional services to a Department of Homeland Security-owned data center. Operations support for the DHS Enterprise Data Center 1 is needed until the Data Center and Cloud Optimization contract is issued.

The Department of Defense also re-awarded GDIT the Defense Enterprise Office Solutions contract. DEOS calls for the delivery of enterprise cloud-based email and collaboration tools. It covers word processing, spreadsheets, file sharing and storage in Microsoft 365 cloud environments at Impact Levels 5 and 6.

The recompete win came after a drawn-out procurement battle that saw Perspecta filing two contract protests, leading to corrective actions.
