Defense Intelligence Agency to Establish New Organization for Accelerating AI Tech Development, Adoption
The Defense Intelligence Agency is conducting market research to identify potential sources of technical assistance and information technology support to establish the Artificial Intelligence for Defense Intelligence Enterprise.
According to a request for information, standing up AI DIE aims to increase AI adoption at DIA and its customers and partners and accelerate the transition of AI-powered products and capabilities to analysts, warfighters and decision-makers. The government will manage the planned organization but will require support from the private sector, DefenseSoop reported.
AI DIE will initially focus on AI career development and AI infrastructure and tools but will include mission support, standards and governance, experimentation and partnerships among its priorities as the agency’s AI development effort expands.
Work to be performed as part of the AI DIE initiatives could include developing a platform for AI tech building, testing and delivery and creating and maintaining data and model repositories.
The agency will accept responses to the RFI until April 24.
