Deputy National Cyber Director Set to Leave White House

Camille Stewart Gloster, the deputy national cyber director for technology and ecosystem, has confirmed her departure from the White House.

Stewart Gloster joined the Office of the National Cyber Director in August 2022, supporting the development and implementation of the National Cyber Workforce and Education Strategy. Her work also focused on technology security, emerging technology, global supply chain security, data security and the Open Source Software Security Initiative.

According to National Cyber Director Harry Coker, Stewart Gloster helped promote secure-by-design product development and encourage more Americans to join the cyber workforce, Nextgov/FCW reported.

Before assuming the deputy national cyber director role, she was the head of global product security strategy at Google. She also started the #ShareTheMicInCyber movement, which aims to address systemic racism in the cybersecurity field.

Her private sector experience also included time spent as a cyber risk manager at Deloitte and as a senior manager of legal affairs at Cyveillance.

In 2015, Stewart Gloster joined the Department of Homeland Security as a senior policy adviser. The role focused on providing the DHS Office of Cyber, Infrastructure and Resilience Policy with advice related to international cyber diplomacy, encryption, cyber export controls and election security, among other areas.
