Labor Department Awards $115M Enterprise Service Desk Support Services Contract to MakNuAx

MakNuAx will provide enterprise service desk support services to the Department of Labor under a $115 million contract.

The company is a joint venture between Makpar and NuAxis Innovations.

Work includes modernizing systems to improve customer experience using innovative and emerging technologies, MakNuAx said.

According to NuAxis CEO Raza Latif, a Potomac Officers Club member, the company will continue developing solutions to support DOL’s missions, building on its previous work with the agency.

As part of the contract, Makpar will cooperate with NuAxis to bring about new low-cost, high-performance capabilities.

NTT Data will support the project as a subcontractor. The company previously collaborated with NuAxis for seven years to provide the department with modernization services.

Recently, DOL secured a $7.2 million investment from the Technology Modernization Fund to improve its permanent labor certification services, enhance customer experience and address fraud and security risks. According to Brian Pasternak, administrator of DOL’s Office of Foreign Labor Certification, the agency will integrate the permanent labor certification process into the Foreign Labor Application Gateway to provide employers with faster, easier access to the services and a better immigrant visa processing experience.

Besides modernizing systems, TMF Board Chair and Federal Chief Information Officer Clare Martorana said the investment will also help accelerate the implementation of zero trust architecture to address immediate cybersecurity gaps.
