Elbit Systems Secures US Army Contract to Upgrade Bradley Fleet

The Department of Defense has awarded Elbit Systems an estimated $37 million contract to support General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems in equipping the U.S. Army’s Bradley M2A4E1 infantry fighting vehicles with Iron Fist active protection systems.

Elbit Systems’ Iron Fist APS is a second-generation hard-kill defense system designed to safeguard armored vehicles against a range of modern threats, including anti-tank rockets, missiles, drones and loitering munitions, Elbit Systems said.

The system features comprehensive 360-degree protection, protecting the Bradley M2A4E1 fleet in open terrain and complex urban environments.

According to Yehuda Vered, general manager of Elbit Systems’ land division, the Iron Fist APS’ cutting-edge technology provides comprehensive protection against evolving threats, ultimately empowering American forces to effectively and safely execute their missions.

The work on the contract will be performed over 24 months.
