Epoch Concepts to Offer IT Solutions Through DOD Enterprise Software Initiative Catalog

The Department of Defense has awarded Epoch Concepts a contract valued at $216.8 million to add the company’s IT solutions to the Enterprise Software Initiative DevSecOps Agency Catalog. The service-disabled, veteran-owned small business offers storage and infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud and hyperconverged infrastructure solutions, among other products.

Through the DevSecOps Agency Catalog, the DOD, the intelligence community and the U.S Coast Guard can purchase IT products and services at a discounted price. The ESI contract awarded through the NASA Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement V government-wide acquisition contract will expire on April 30, 2025, Epoch Concepts said.

According to Marcus Smiley, CEO of Epoch Concepts, the contract will allow the company to serve national security.

Besides the ESI award, the company previously secured contracts to support the IT needs of the U.S. Army, the Navy, the Department of Energy, the General Services Administration and other government entities. Epoch Concepts also serves its private industry partners facing IT challenges, including addressing cybersecurity concerns.

In a recent interview with TechNewsWorld, Smiley commented on an NCC Group report about a significant increase in ransomware attacks on various companies between October and November 2022. The executive said ransomware incidents have increased during the holiday season since at least 2018 because companies tend to be less responsive to cyberattacks at the time period and its internet of things network and remote employment practice widen its attack surface.

Another factor is the rising geopolitical conflict, resulting in more activity from state-sponsored and politically driven cyber actors, Smiley added.
