FBI Taps ECS to Provide Critical IT Services for Next Eight Years

The FBI has ensured its critical mission information technology needs are met in the next eight years under a new $8 billion contract given to ECS.

On Thursday, ECS announced that it had been selected by the FBI as the prime contractor for the Information Technology Supplies and Support Services 2nd Generation blanket purchase agreement. The new deal covers the provision of artificial intelligence-enabled IT solutions, including intelligence analysis, geospatial analysis and malware analysis. It could also include business application support services, the delivery of platform and infrastructure solutions and services covering other emerging technologies, ECS said.

ECS President John Heneghan said that the company’s partnership with the FBI is one of the most critical services it provides the government. He added that the company’s expertise in emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, enables ECS to provide solutions needed to protect national security.

With the government increasingly integrating AI into its daily operations, ECS is one of the contractors helping make the most of the technology. In March, it received from the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities a contract to work on the Development Command Army Research Lab to extend AI capabilities in DOD and warfighting applications.
