FileCloud Unveils New Platform for Data Governance, Cybersecurity Compliance

FileCloud has announced a new enterprise file sync, sharing and data governance platform designed to guide organizations through cybersecurity compliance processes.

The new Compliance Center includes a user-friendly interface that includes a checklist of compliance items that have not yet been met based on the selected configuration, FireCloud said Tuesday.

The platform also allows users to configure compliance policies and to export settings for each, including a report on violations that would allow teams to focus their efforts.

FireCloud added that its platform will help organizations take advantage of the business opportunities presented by the government’s recent investments in cybersecurity and infrastructure.

“The new Executive Order on Cybersecurity lays out a timeline for standardizing contractual requirements across agencies and improves compliance for vendors and the Federal Government,” said FileCloud founder and CEO Madhan Kanagavel.

President Joe Biden’s May 12 executive order was aimed at modernizing the federal government’s cybersecurity and improving the security of American technology.

In August, the Senate also passed a trillion-dollar infrastructure bill that includes funding for state, local and tribal cybersecurity and critical infrastructure security.

FileCloud said Compliance Center will help organizations weave through the complex system of agency-specific policies and requirements related to cybersecurity, making it easier to vie for business with the government.

The company plans to add support for Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, National Institute of Standards and Technology 800-171 and Financial industry Regulatory Authority standards in future versions of the platform.

Compliance Center will become available as part of FileCloud 21.2 on Sept. 15, the company announced.
