Freedom Space Technologies, OMNI Federal Win SSC Contract for FORGE C2 Support

Freedom Space Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of ATLAS Space Operations, has announced that it secured a U.S. Space Systems Command contract to support the Future Operationally Resilient Ground Evolution System Command and Control effort.

The company will provide software solutions that would bridge existing government architectures with a prototype architecture currently under development. The solution builds on ATLAS’ Freedom software platform, a global ground network management system that manages satellite communications and transmits data to ground-based operators securely and reliably.

Freedom Space will partner with OMNI Federal in delivering modernization services.

FORGE C2 is designed to provide an operational system to consolidate legacy and future assets to a missile warning ground baseline owned by the SSC. The program will focus on telemetry, tracking and commanding; orbital services; ground control and ground resource management; and other space situational awareness aspects, Freedom Space Technologies said Tuesday.

The award is part of the U.S. defense sector’s efforts to improve SSA.

In November, the U.S. Space Force opened the Space Domain Awareness Technology, Applications and Process laboratory, a technology accelerator designed to speed up SSA technology development efforts. TAP Lab encourages the government to work with partners in the private and academic sectors in transitioning prototypes made by the Space Development Agency into commercial offerings.
