GRSi Lands Five-Year NLHBI Contract for Operations Services

GRSi, an information technology service management company, has been awarded a five-year contract to provide operations services to the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute.

The $96 million contract will expand NHLBI’s infrastructure, multi-cloud posture, DevSecOps and continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines, enterprise operations and service management and configuration management, GRSi said Thursday.

CI/CD refers to the practice of closing gaps between development and operation activities and teams by using automation in building, testing and deploying applications, according to InfoWorld.

Diane Yarnell, executive vice president and chief of staff at GRSi, said work on the contract will allow more outside research organizations to leverage NHLBI’s infrastructure and applications.

Under the terms of the deal, the company will expand NHLBI’s cybersecurity, scientific support, on-demand and dynamic infrastructure, high-performance computing, big data storage and analytics and other services.

GRSi said that NHLBI, a leading figure in heart, lung and disease treatment, has been engaged in research during the coronavirus pandemic.

Headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, GRSi is a professional services company that has expertise in cloud, logistics life cycle management, consulting, digital transformation and DevSecOps.

DevSecOps is the concept of ingraining security into the DevOps process, a software development and IT operations philosophy aimed at shortening development time while maintaining high quality.

The company was recently also awarded a five-year contract to provide cyber systems engineering services in support of Fleet Cyber Command and U.S. Cyber Command.

GRSi said it will take advantage of GRSi-SandBoxes and its cyber center of excellence to provide services for cloud computing technologies, mitigation, transition and planning support for cyber technologies.
