GSA, OMB Create FedRAMP Technical Advisory Board
The General Services Administration and the Office of Management and Budget have established a technical advisory group to provide advice to the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program regarding the body’s technical, strategic and operational direction.
The TAG’s work will focus on helping the FedRAMP ensure that federal agencies have the latest cloud solutions that help them deliver their missions.
The inaugural members of the group include Federal Election Commission Technical Lead Laura Beaufort, GSA TTS Technical Lead Paul Hirsch and Department of Defense Cybersecurity Engineer Nicole Thompson, GSA .gov reported.
Eric Mill, executive director for cloud strategy in the GSA’s Technology Transformation Services unit, said that the group will be focused on modernizing FedRAMP as a smarter and more technologically forward organization capable of supporting federal agencies to maximize the benefits offered by cloud services.
The creation of the group comes after FedRAMP unveiled in April a modernization road map focused on four primary goals: ensuring the program’s cybersecurity leadership, improving customer experience, developing a trusted marketplace and building smarter, technology-forward operations.
FedRAMP is a product of the FedRAMP Authorization Act signed in December 2022, focused on guiding agencies on secure adoption and use of cloud services.
