House Armed Services Committee Seeks Update on Integration Efforts for CJADC2

A House Armed Services Committee proposal for the fiscal year 2024 defense budget would direct the Department of Defense to submit a progress report on data and technology integration efforts for Combined Joint All-Domain Command and Control, a plan to connect sensors across all domains to facilitate decision-making.

Introduced by Rep. Pat Ryan, the amendment reflects the committee’s concerns that the DOD is not doing enough to deliver joint integration for CJADC2.

The bill requires the department’s chief digital and artificial intelligence officer to deliver a report on the joint data integration layer and related efforts by March 1, 2024.

HASC passed its version of the FY 2024 National Defense Authorization Act last week, DefenseScoop reported Monday.

In January, the CDAO announced that it would hold global information dominance exercises throughout 2023 aimed at determining various roadblocks to achieving CJADC2 and understanding its proper implementation. The latest iteration of GIDE is ongoing and will end on July 26.
