IBM’s Human Resource Solution for Federal Agencies Secures FedRAMP Authorization

The IBM Federal HR Cloud has received a Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program authorization, allowing government users to continue benefiting from the solution.

The IBM Federal HR Cloud, introduced in 2013, offers payroll, benefits administration, performance management and other human resource capabilities to federal agencies. IBM continuously updates the solution to include new features and applications, such as artificial intelligence and employee and manager self-service.

IBM Federal HR Cloud is the only private-sector HR shared service solution certified by the Office of Personnel Management. It is currently used by five federal agencies, IBM said.

The FedRAMP Authorization is one of several tech-related achievements IBM reached in August.

On Monday, IBM introduced watsonx, a next-generation enterprise-focused AI and data platform designed to help businesses apply AI. Watsonx gives businesses a unified platform to use open-source foundation models and create, deploy and manage generative AI and machine learning solutions.

On Aug. 22, IBM announced watsonx Code Assistant for Z, a generative AI-assisted solution that helps users translate COBOL to Java faster through IBM Z. The product will be available in the fourth quarter of 2023.
