Ideal Innovations Granted Patent for Drone Targeting System

Ideal Innovations has secured a patent for its system designed to take out drones and other unmanned aerial systems with increased accuracy.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office granted the patent for the Handheld Integrated Targeting System amid the rise of drone-based warfare, which brings increasing UAS threat levels, according to Bob Kocher, CEO of Ideal Innovations.

The adoption of HITS in the counter-UAS space is expected to bring advantages to the military forces of the United States and its allies on the battlefield, Ideal Innovations said.

HITS features an aiming system with target detection and tracking capability and a fire control computer with a display system that enables operators to point weapon launchers in the right direction and defeat targets.

Ideal Innovations is a service-disabled veteran-owned company primarily working with the Department of Defense. It provides technology development, consulting and program management and specializes in biometrics, forensics and technical services, including identity management, access control, force protection, intelligence and logistics.
