Immersion Consulting Cloud Offering Receives FedRAMP Authorization

Immersion Consulting has received a formal “Authorized” designation from the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program for its Immersion Cloud offering.

Immersion Cloud is a software-as-a-service tool that enables data sharing, analysis and reporting in a secure cloud environment. The offering was tested at the Veterans Benefits Administration and became the first SaaS solution in the VBA to achieve FedRAMP authorization, Immersion Consulting said.

Immersion is one of a few service-disabled, veteran-owned small businesses to achieve FedRAMP authorization. Company founder and CEO Dan Smalley said the platform helped the VBA save time, reduce errors and become more efficient across its financial management enterprise.

The VBA is Immersion’s sponsor agency for the Immersion Cloud program. It is a part of the Department of Veterans Affairs that offers compensation, education, training, loans, insurance and other support services to veterans, servicemen and their families.

The company worked with data analytics solutions provider Altair to develop Immersion Cloud. Mark Do Couto, senior vice president of data analytics at Altair, said the FedRAMP authorization will allow both companies to provide greater support to their clients in the government sector.

Immersion Consulting was founded in 2004. It provides business management and technology consulting services to commercial and government clients and specializes in technology, program and financial management and training services.
