Immersive Wisdom Secures New US Air Force Software Contract
The U.S. Air Force announced that it has acquired an enterprise license for Immersive Wisdom’s software platform for denied, degraded, intermittent and limited-bandwidth environments under a $25 million Small Business Innovation Research Phase III contract.
The Boca Raton, Florida-based software developer announced the contract award at the 2023 Association of the United States Army Annual Meeting and Exposition held from Oct. 9 to 11 in Washington, D.C.
The contract will facilitate the USAF and the Department of Defense’s rapid acquisition of the DDIL no-bandwidth and low-bandwidth software platform, Immersive Wisdom said.
With the tool, Air Force personnel dispersed geographically can use existing desktops and laptops to work collaboratively even if bandwidth is severely limited.
The platform’s features include live voice and chat, sensor feeds, enterprise applications and maps, which could be synchronized in real time in a remote, interactive operations center accessible worldwide.
In June 2020, the Air Force awarded to Immersive Wisdom an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with a $950 million ceiling for software support to the service’s Advanced Battle Management System.
