Istari Digital Secures Air Force Contract to Support Digital Twin Program
AFWERX, the U.S. Air Force’s innovation arm, has awarded Istari Digital a $15 million contract to provide a plug-and-play digital platform that will consolidate data from digital models and simulations to accelerate the development of future technologies.
The platform will support the Model One program, which aims to create digital twins of devices, vessels and other assets to speed up decision-making on the battlefield and simulate future conflicts to increase warfighter readiness, Istari Digital said.
The contract builds on a $19 million award from the Air Force Research Laboratory to develop the first-ever digitally certified airplane using the company’s software.
“Our plug-n-play digital thread platform provides secure, real-time, digital collaboration across difficult-to-integrate data types, unlocking digital speed of all innovation,” said Will Roper, Istari Digital’s president and CEO, a past Wash100 awardee and a former Potomac Officers Club speaker.
“This latest contract demonstrates our commitment to breakthrough data-meshing solutions and our customers’ confidence in leveraging them,” he added.
According to Eric Schmidt, former CEO of Google, Model One provides Istari Digital with an opportunity to create a virtual military.
