Jacobs Provides IT Support for MDA Missile Interceptor Flight Test
Jacobs has announced that it worked with businesses and subcontractors under the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions contract to support a recent Missile Defense Agency flight test.
The team provided information technology services, communications and connectivity support at 36 locations worldwide to ensure the success of the Flight Test Ground-based Midcourse Defense Weapon System-12, Jacobs said Wednesday.
IRES personnel provided command and control, logistics support, mission assurance, operations and situational awareness.
Jacobs said that it provides an efficient and multipurpose contract to execute multiple objectives and requirements such as Missile Defense System mission operations, testing, exercises, simulation and enterprise communications. According to the company, its support for MDA enables faster research, development, integration and testing.
FTG-12 saw an enhanced Ground-Based Interceptor head off an intermediate-range ballistic missile.
In April, Jacobs assisted MDA’s flight test of the Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense System as part of the IRES contract.
