L3Harris Hawkeye III Lite VSAT Improves US Army Battlefield Communications

L3Harris Technologies has equipped U.S. Army units with its Hawkeye III Lite Very Small Aperture Terminal to boost their battlefield communications capabilities.

The Hawkeye III Lite VSAT is engineered to deliver high-speed data satellite communications connectivity in the challenging environments of modern military operations, L3Harris said.

The SATCOM terminals, integral to current combat operations, feature a lightweight, modular design adaptable for use on commercial aircraft, ensuring real-time communication with low latency and high data rates.

Chris Aebli, L3Harris’ tactical communications president, stressed the significance of the terminals in maintaining uninterrupted mission command across diverse environments.

The Hawkeye III Lite VSAT’s integration into the Army’s communications infrastructure is the result of a collaborative effort between L3Harris and the U.S. Army initiated in 2018 to modernize and optimize military communications.

According to L3Harris, the widespread adoption of the Hawkeye III Lite VSAT by various international defense forces, including NATO and Five Eyes nations, proves it a reliable and robust communications solutions for military needs.
