Leidos Awarded $476M Cargo Mission Support Contract to Support NASA Missions
Leidos will provide NASA missions with engineering, maintenance and operations support under a potential $476.5 million contract with a two-year base period and three option years.
The fourth iteration of the Cargo Mission Contract covers the International Space Station program and the Artemis moon exploration program among other missions, NASA said Thursday.
According to the agency, Leidos will also be responsible for providing analytical and physical processing services; developing, fabricating and certifying hardware; implementing the space station and Artemis manifest requirements for launch, return and disposal; and supporting logistical and integration functions to maintain adequate crew provisions and supplies and sustain human presence in space.
Leidos will perform the contract work at its facility in Webster, Texas. The base period will begin on Oct. 1, 2024, and end on Sept. 30, 2026.
The company has been supporting NASA operations for several years.
In March, Leidos delivered a prototype of a universal stage adapter for connecting the Space Launch System with the Orion spacecraft, which is built to bring humans to the moon as part of the Artemis campaign.
In 2021, NASA awarded the company a potential 10-year, $2.5 billion contract to support the agency’s enterprise IT operations.
