Leidos-Led Consortium Begins International MHS Genesis Rollout
Leidos Partnership for Defense Health, a Leidos-led consortium of technology companies, has implemented the MHS Genesis electronic health record system in Department of Defense military treatment facilities in Europe and outside the contiguous United States for the first time.
The EHR system was rolled out in 10 military treatment facilities in Europe and additional sites at Fort Buchanan in Puerto Rico and Guantanamo Bay in Cuba following the completion of its implementation in all primary DOD locations in the U.S. earlier in 2023, Leidos said.
With the latest deployment, MHS Genesis is now operational at over 3,500 locations, benefiting more than 7 million beneficiaries. LDPH plans to bring the EHR system to Far East locations in the coming weeks and to Pacific locations before the end of 2023.
According to Liz Porter, Leidos Health Group president, LDPH will continue making improvements to MHS Genesis to meet changing customer demands. Prior system updates include enhanced connectivity with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to query and report immunizations to state registries and access allergy and medication data.
