Leidos to Support Social Security Administration With $1.5B in Task Orders

The Social Security Administration has awarded Leidos two indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity task orders with a combined ceiling of $1.5 billion under the Information Technology Support Services Contract II.

According to Liz Porter, president of Leidos Health Group, the task order wins could lead to support in new areas.

Leidos is tasked with providing systems and infrastructure support to SSA’s deputy commissioner of systems and Office of Systems Operations and Hardware Engineering. The DSC is expected to receive various software system and service enhancements such as web design while OSOHE will acquire planning, operations and maintenance to computer systems, enterprise IT infrastructure and application services, Leidos said Monday.

In December 2022, the Government Accountability Office struck down two protests levied by Peraton against the initial awards to Leidos. The complainant had argued that, among other reasons, SSA unreasonably evaluated the relative experience between Peraton and Leidos due to the former’s status as the incumbent on the task orders.

According to GAO, Peraton failed to establish that SSA had not sufficiently considered experience in selecting Leidos.

Peraton inherited the work following its acquisition of Northrop Grumman’s IT segment in 2021. Northrop was one of three awardees under the ITSCC II contract in 2017, alongside CGI and Leidos.
