LMI to Provide FINISIM, AI/ML Models to Help DLA Improve Analytics Capabilities
The Defense Logistics Agency has awarded Logistics Management Institute a contract to help the government agency improve its research, development and analytics capabilities.
Under the contract, LMI will provide its Financial and Inventory Simulation Model, deliver artificial intelligence and machine learning models and refresh data to allow the DLA to identify changes in business metrics. According to LMI, FINISIM and its AI/ML models will allow the DLA to track supply chain financial metrics by analyzing inventory and financial systems and their interactions.
The contract builds on a long-standing partnership between the consulting firm and the agency. The DLA Logistics Operations awarded the contract, LMI said Tuesday.
Other agencies have also banked on LMI’s expertise for their modernization and efficiency improvement goals.
In November, the U.S. Postal Service awarded LMI a potential eight-year, $670 million Enterprise Program Services contract to deliver services supporting operational efficiency and executive leadership improvements. The consulting firm was tasked with providing strategic and tactical support for productivity and customer experience enhancements.
In October, LMI won a potential five-year, $604 million U.S. Border Patrol task order to support the Program Management Office Directorate’s modernization efforts. Deliverables include program management, lifecycle logistics management and technical support.
