Lovelace AI Founder Andrew Moore to Assist US Central Command as Technology Adviser
The U.S. Central Command has appointed Lovelace AI founder Andrew Moore as its first-ever adviser for artificial intelligence, robotics and cloud computing. Moore was previously vice president of Google Cloud’s AI division. In his new role, Moore will provide assistance in various aspects of AI, including its adoption, data collection and structuring, and computer algorithms, Breaking Defense reported.
CENTCOM Chief Technology Officer Schuyler Moore told reporters in an interview that the command intends to deploy the new AI adviser to the Middle East within the next two months so he could see for himself the challenges the organization is facing and make applicable technology recommendations.
The CENTCOM CTO noted that some of her organization’s work is related to what the Department of Defense’s Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office is doing in terms of digital warfighting, data integration and fusion, and analytics and that Andrew Moore will be responsible for ensuring alignment of effort.
He will also work to ensure that CENTCOM’s efforts are in line with the DOD’s Joint All-Domain Command and Control program.
