Maximus Awarded $87M IRS Contract to Streamline Financial Management, Tax Collection

Government services Maximus has secured an $87 million, five-year contract with the Internal Revenue Service to enhance the agency’s financial management systems.

Awarded through the Enterprise Development, Operations Services blanket purchase agreement, the task order will support the IRS Internal Management Division, Maximus said.

Specifically, Maximus will manage the General Ledger system and help maintain the agency’s compliance and enforcement programs that underpin the IRS’ tax collection efforts.

Maximus will also provide systems development, IT program management, operations and maintenance support and staffing services while enhancing the agency’s IO&A program.

Tricia Belman, managing director of Maximus’ federal financial unit, highlighted the company’s partnership with the IRS over the past 30 years and said the recent award builds upon its previous projects with the agency, including supporting the IRS Master File.

In May 2023, Maximus also booked a spot on the IRS’ $2.6 billion blanket purchase agreement aimed at modernizing its IT infrastructure over a potential seven-year period.
