MicroStrategy Cloud for Government Nears FedRAMP Authorization
The Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program has granted MicroStrategy’s government cloud platform an “In Process” designation.
FedRAMP is a government-wide program launched in 2011 that standardizes the security assessment, authorization and continuous monitoring of cloud-based products and services to ensure all federal data is secure in cloud environments.
The “In Process” status means a solution will soon be reviewed for federal use by the Joint Authorization Board or an agency. The Joint Authorization Board is the primary governing body for FedRAMP.
MicroStrategy Cloud for Government’s authorization is being sponsored by the Department of Health & Human Services. FedRAMP certification is expected to be granted by September 2022, MicroStrategy said.
“Our pending FedRAMP accreditation is the latest demonstration of MicroStrategy’s commitment to, and investment in, leadership in cloud security and data protection,” said Rick Nelson, senior vice president of government for MicroStrategy.
The cloud-based offering is classified on the FedRAMP website as an enterprise analytics platform that drives data-driven cultures and improved decision making. It enables users to build data models built on a variety of intelligence solutions, resulting in the delivery of accurate, personalized and trusted information based on each agency’s enterprise data dictionary.
MicroStrategy’s target customer, HHS, currently uses FedRAMP-approved solutions from Adobe, Amazon Web Services, Box, Cisco, Druva, Ivanti, McAfee, Microsoft and Oracle.
