NASA Selects 12 Organizations to Provide Engineering, Mission Integration Services for ISS

NASA and 11 companies and one university will be working to ensure seamless operations at the International Space Station.

The space agency announced that it had selected the companies to work on the $478 million Research, Engineering and Mission Integration Services-2 contract. Under the deal, the contractors will provide several support services, including ground hardware, payload facility integration and spaceflight.

Those selected for the REMIS-2 contract include KBR, Aegis Aerospace, Leidos, Teledyne Brown Engineering and the University of Alabama at Birmingham, NASA said.

The space sector is expected to achieve a significant milestone in 2024. NASA is scheduled to launch the Artemis II crewed mission in November, with four astronauts on board an Orion spacecraft and a Space Launch System rocket during the eight-day lunar mission.

The U.S. Space Force is also expecting a momentous year ahead as it plans to launch several missions. Among the contracts expected to be issued is a potential seven-year, $750 million follow-on contract for military Ka band global satellite service subscriptions.
