NASA Selects Companies for $6B Spacecraft Acquisition Program

NASA has awarded contracts worth $6 billion to four companies for spacecraft equipment and related services to support the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, under its Rapid Spacecraft Acquisition IV On-Ramp III program.

The selected firms are Argotec,  Blue Canyon Technologies, General Atomics and Kongsberg NanoAvionics U.S., NASA said.

The chosen contractors will provide spacecraft components, design and related services, with the flexibility to customize solutions for individual missions.

The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contracts with firm-fixed-price terms also feature an “on ramp” option, allowing new vendors to submit proposals for proven spacecraft designs periodically, while existing awardees can introduce additional designs or update their offerings.

The contract period concludes in August 2025, with a potential extension to August 2030.

The contractors will primarily perform work at their facilities, with additional tasks required at government launch sites. The contracts may also support other NASA centers and federal agencies.
