NAVSEA Names Rear Adm. Todd Evans as Warfare Centers Commander
A change of command ceremony was held Monday at the Washington Navy Yard, transferring the responsibility to lead the Naval Sea Systems Command Warfare Centers to Rear Adm. Todd Evans.
Rear Adm. Thomas Dickinson, who was the NAVSEA Warfare Centers commander for nearly a year, is now the program executive officer for integrated warfare systems.
Evans most recently served as vice commander of Naval Air Systems Command. In his new role, he will oversee the U.S. Navy’s Naval Surface Warfare Center and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, responsible for the research, development, test and evaluation assessment activities for surface ships and submarine systems and subsystems, the Naval Sea Systems Command said.
Before joining NAVAIR, he served as the commanding officer of the Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron 14, during which he supported Operation Unified Response and Operation Tomadachi.
Evans, born in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, received a bachelor’s degree in marine engineering from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York.
